Adobe Rose Facebook
A family-owned business, Adobe Rose, recently celebrated 10 years of inviting people to sit back and relax as they gather around the table.
This local favorite opened its doors in November 2012 and has been serving up the spirit of New Mexico ever since.
While the restaurant has been around for a decade, the building is over 50 years old. It was originally built by art students from The College of Artesia. Peter Hurd, a New Mexican artist, was an integral supporter of this endeavor, and the building became the Peter Hurd Gallery. Years later, the restaurant served as the home for the original owners of the bed and breakfast. Fast forward to the 21st Century, and Adobe Rose continues to be a mainstay in our community.
Tom Winters, together with his siblings and their families, has invested time, energy, and resources into this venture. Not only is this a family affair for the restaurant, but the property is co-owned by Winters’ nephew, Chad Harcrow. Harcrow’s wife, Megan, in addition to being co-owner, manages the Adobe Rose Boutique Inn.
Love has been an essential ingredient in Adobe Rose since its inception. Love is exactly what sparked Winters’ dream—a love for family and a desire to spend more time with his daughter, Chloe. When Chloe, who attended The Culinary Institute of America, agreed to move back to Artesia, she brought this dream to life. She brings a unique set of skills and passion to the table. With Winters at the front of the house and Chef Chloe creating masterpieces in the kitchen, this father-daughter duo is the secret sauce that makes this place so unique.
Summer Concert Series: Live music on Friday evenings (and every other Wednesday). Showcases various local artists.
From the historic ambience to the local artwork displayed on the walls to the food inspired by the spirit of New Mexico, Adobe Rose stays true to its rich history while continuing to be relevant today. No matter if your taste buds are craving a steak or seafood, a Mexican dish or chicken fried steak, there is something for everyone. Chef Chloe has a knack for bringing creative flair to every dish, leaving each guest satisfied. She keeps it fresh by changing the menu periodically, showcasing the best of each season.
This summer, Adobe Rose is the place to frequent. If you need an oasis from the deserts of life, the restaurant offers the benefits of a vacation, locally, without the high price tag or hassle of travel. Escape for an evening with friends on the patio or enjoy a staycation at the Inn. Gather around the table to laugh, enjoy live music, and bask in those summer nights. Come hungry, and leave refreshed with the spirit of New Mexico and the love of family.
