Stained glass craftswoman and kiln-formed glass artist, Jeanice Crnich invites all folks strolling downtown Carlsbad this summer to check out the Artist Gallery at 120 South Canyon Street!
For glass artist Crnich, her art is something she has crafted her entire life. At the age of nine, her mother began sharing with her the process of creating art with glass. Crnich says, “It feels like I’ve always been cutting glass.” The process came so naturally after training alongside her mother. When Crnich sees a large piece of glass for the first time, she inspects the plate for the movement of the color, and her imagination runs wild. Light plays through the glass with a dancing, spiritual effect. In the swirls and sweeps of color, Crnich may see waterfalls, storm clouds, and so much more.
At the gallery, Crnich displays glass bowls, spoon rests, sun catchers, and night lights, just to name a few of the pieces available for purchase. Her pieces begin at just $7 dollars and would make unique, thoughtful gifts. Head on over to the Artists Gallery to bring a little of what Crnich sees in her mind home today.
