What’s happening on the hill at Artesia’s newest nonprofit organization, Haven of Hope? Quite a lot! Read on for updates below!

The staff at Haven of Hope is growing! There’s a new administrative assistant welcoming the community to the organization, Kristen Harrison. Harrison joins the team at Haven of Hope from Blue Star Therapy. She has great experience working with both mothers and children.

After battling COVID-19 related supply chain issues on building materials for nearly the duration of the construction phase the past year, the last of the missing materials will be delivered and installed in the coming week or two. The originally chosen exterior doors will be delivered tomorrow! The installation of the doors, the access controls, touch up painting, and fencing will signify the last of the construction phase.

The first residents of Haven of Hope moved into the cottage beginning in January. According to Executive Director, Anita Braun, the moms have formed a tribe already. She says, “none of the mothers knew each other before, but the moms and kids get along with one another so well. The mothers support one another, and the kids love playing together. We’re blessed with a group of fantastic women who are also great moms.” Residents have been hard at work making lasting changes for their families; Haven of Hope began its continuing education curriculum about personal finances. Residents are learning how to use and access resources available to them. Looking for additional details about Haven of Hope?
