Carlsbad Medical Center is inviting everyone in the community to sign up for a 28-Day Healthy Heart Challenge. You can sign up at the following link: https://www.carlsbadmedicalcenter.com/heart-challenge. Everyone who signs up will receive a daily email with articles about heart health, quick tips for better living and a daily challenge to help develop better health habits. Every year, about 800,000 Americans suffer a heart attack, and about half of the adults in the country have high blood pressure. 

Additionally, Dr. Amanda Ryan, with Advanced Heart and Vascular of N.M. is holding a Go Red Luncheon for Women from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday at her office at 2405 W. Pierce. Dr. Ryan is also part of a Heart Health Fair and Expo on Feb. 17. At the college and is hosting Heart Health Zuumba events throughout the month. 

We appreciate having so many members of our medical community come together to work on heart health.
