Friday the 5th, pilots will launch from Grand Heights Kindergarten as well
as all 5 elementary schools, weather permitting of course. Students from the
schools will watch and learn how the balloons
are set up and launched before their eyes all before breakfast even begins.
Most pilots are friendly and will let the kids touch the basket or if they
are lucky, get inside to see how it feels in hopes of getting them excited
for the weekend ahead.
On the Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th, weather permitting, the balloons
will lift from Eagle Draw Park between 7th and 13th street. To verify if the
balloons will fly or not,
large banners will hang on the 13th Street bridge to let spectators know
if the balloons are a go. Bring your chairs, watch from your house in your
jammies, or participate by sponsoring a balloon and pilot to help crew.
