In other news, former Carlsbad High standout turned Miami Marlin Trevor Rodgers pitched six strikeouts on five innings in the second half of a doubleheader against the New York Mets on Tuesday. He received no decision in the game, which the Mets went on to win, 2-1. With the MLB’s regular season winding down next week, this may have been Trevor’s last start of the year. It was a solid performance on the mound during a year that started out exceptional, but became more challenging in July as Trevor battled several personal issues. We all have very high expectations from him in the future. It’s been a lot of fun following Trevor this year, especially his All Star debut.
