As we welcome fall in Carlsbad, there is an energy that comes with this time of year.
Cooler weather, community traditions, and a full calendar of events give us so many opportunities to come together and enjoy the place we call home.
At Carlsbad MainStreet, we are excited to finish another successful season of our Farmers’ and Makers’ Market, with our final market taking place October 24 at Halagueno Arts Park. The season will continue with our Fall Festival on Halloween, along with Halloween movies at the Cavern Theatre. We hope families will join us and make a day of celebrating together.
The Cavern Theatre also has a busy season ahead with live performances, movies, and special programming. Each event gives us another opportunity to create new memories within a historic place that already holds so many for our community.
MainStreet continues work on projects that will help shape the future of downtown. Our Neon Alley project is moving forward as we work to transform an underutilized space into an area that celebrates Carlsbad’s history, art, and creativity. We are excited about what this space can become and look forward to sharing more as the project progresses.
Before we know it, the holiday season will be here, and we are already gearing up for the Electric Light Parade and holiday festivities. As you begin your holiday shopping, I encourage you to remember our local businesses. Small Business Saturday is a wonderful reminder to shop small, support local, and invest in the people who invest in our community every day.
Downtown revitalization is about more than buildings, projects, and events. It is about people, partnerships, preserving our history, supporting local businesses, and creating places where our community can gather and connect. To our businesses, volunteers, sponsors, board members, city leadership, community partners, and everyone who continues to support Carlsbad MainStreet, thank you. There is so much to look forward to during this fall and holiday season with even more on the horizon. I hope you will join us, shop local, celebrate with us, and continue to be part of the future we are building together.
