Betty Ruth Abeyta, 90, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest.  There is no visitation and cremation has taken place.  Rosary will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church followed by Mass at 10 a.m led by Father Hruday Kumar Pasala.  Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (new section).

Betty was born July 4, 1931 in Durant, Oklahoma, the youngest of seven children born to Walter and Ellen (Bain) Womack.

Betty married J. A. “Red” Abeyta on October 23, 1949.  They enjoyed 70 years of marriage prior to his passing on April 1, 2020.

They are survived by their 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
