This Independence Day, Carlsbad will share with all Americans as we celebrate the 250th celebration of our country. I promise you the fireworks and festivities are, in my opinion, the best in the state. The excitement, the community pride, and the brilliant display lighting up the night sky create an atmosphere that is hard to match.

The days are just as vibrant. Families cool off at the water park, visitors drift along the Pecos River, and adventurers explore the world famous Carlsbad Caverns. Sitting Bull Falls offers a refreshing mountain escape, while the Black River and countless other natural spots keep the outdoor fun going strong. Adding to the charm is the newly renovated Cavern Theater, which brings classic character and cultural energy back to downtown. It is the perfect backdrop for a quintessential summer evening.

And perhaps the best part—you do not have to be a local to feel welcome. Carlsbad embraces newcomers and visitors with open arms. It is more than okay to be an outsider here; in fact, it’s encouraged. Enjoy the activities at the beach area, soak up the sunshine, and let the easy rhythm of Carlsbad summer sweep you in.
