She expresses her creativity through using recycled calendars to make cards, repurposing magazine pages into cards and fans, altering photos, and sewing purses composed of upholstery and drape samples. She also enjoys the unique methods of zentangle, a drawing method that creates patterns called “tangles,” and Suminagashi, a Japanese art method of swirling ink on water and transferring it to design paper (also known as “floating ink”).

While Jane can easily get lost in all these designs, her favorite pastime is calligraphy. During her time in Florida, she worked as a professional calligrapher for NASCAR, handwriting invitations and certificates. Her calligraphy has been used for countless special occasions, including a class reunion where 150 students who had passed away were listed on a giant roll of paper. Calligraphy is her passion.

Many professional artists describe their tenure as “always,” and Jane is no exception. This gift is woven into her makeup, as she is always inspired by something. Jane’s imagination keeps her awake some nights as she continuously ponders her next beautiful design.
