Spring has officially arrived in Downtown Carlsbad, bringing with it a fresh wave of energy and excitement!
Over the winter months, our team has been working hard planning an incredible lineup of events designed to bring the community together. Leading the way is the much-anticipated Downtown Farmers & Makers Market, launching earlier than ever before—thanks to the dedication of our Market Manager, Cristina Enright, and the unwavering support from the City of Carlsbad, Eddy County, and our generous community partners and sponsors, including United Way of Eddy County and SIMCO. Their commitment has been instrumental in growing the market’s offerings and capacity year after year.
This year, we are structuring the market into three sessions to better accommodate both our vendors and visitors, all of which will take place on the Eddy County Courthouse lawn:

By kicking off the season earlier, we aim to give local farmers and growers a better opportunity to showcase their fresh produce before the intense summer heat sets in. Each year, we listen to community feedback to enhance the market experience, and this season, we are excited to incorporate new technology and resources to further expand and improve accessibility for all.
If you have noticed a brief pause between market sessions, do not worry—we have something spectacular lined up! CavernFest, Carlsbad MainStreet’s signature event, will be happening downtown on June 13 and 14, filling downtown with music, entertainment, food, and fun for the entire family. Best of all, it is completely free to attend! We are incredibly grateful to Chevron, our title sponsor for the third consecutive year, whose ongoing support makes this unforgettable event possible.

I am the Executive Director for Carlsbad MainStreet/Arts & Cultural District. My career began in 2020 as the Director for Carlsbad’s Pearl of the Pecos ACD and at the beginning of 2022 the MainStreet board merged these positions into one. I was born and raised in Ireland and have a diverse background that drives my passion to make my community a better place through many different service organizations, volunteering, and our work through Carlsbad MainStreet.
