As we reflect on another fast-paced year in Downtown Carlsbad, it is incredible to see how much we have accomplished together.
This year was filled with community events, but beyond that, we made strides in enhancing our public spaces. In partnership with the City of Carlsbad we installed new public restrooms to better serve event-goers and visitors, provided façade grants to support improvements at five local businesses, and secured grants for future public art installations and murals to enrich our downtown area.
We also celebrated the arrival of new businesses, like Mexicali Merchandise Company, Juar’Axe, and Cavern City Tattoos, and we were thrilled to see some of our long-standing businesses expand on their services. Carlsbad MainStreet and MainStreet organizations across the region remain committed to supporting our district’s businesses, offering resources and guidance to help them grow and thrive within our community. Together, we look forward to building on these successes and strengthening our district in the coming year.
With the holiday season here, let’s remember the impact we can make by supporting our local businesses. Carlsbad MainStreet is proud to partner with American Express as a Neighborhood Champion for Small Business Saturday—a nationwide movement to boost small businesses that has become a favorite holiday tradition.

I am the Executive Director for Carlsbad MainStreet/Arts & Cultural District. My career began in 2020 as the Director for Carlsbad’s Pearl of the Pecos ACD and at the beginning of 2022 the MainStreet board merged these positions into one. I was born and raised in Ireland and have a diverse background that drives my passion to make my community a better place through many different service organizations, volunteering, and our work through Carlsbad MainStreet.
