Every summer, Artesia Chamber of Commerce looks back on the last 12 months of activity to reflect on what we’ve been doing, our wins, and where we can do better.

We always find the numbers to be interesting. Here’s a look at Artesia Chamber of Commerce by the numbers.

401. Currently, Artesia has 401 members, which is a new high for us. We lost a handful of members, as we do every year, with some closures, relocations, and sometimes just lack of interest in the Chamber.

37. We happily celebrate the 37 new members we gained this year. Most of them had a ribbon cutting, and their photos have been in this or earlier editions of Focus on Artesia. Artesia Chamber of Commerce is a great place to call if you are looking for a certain type of business and need some help. We will always point you to one of our fabulous members.

6. In addition to our members, the Chamber is thankful to our Chamber Champions, who support us regularly throughout the year. They are HF Sinclair, Spur Energy, Devon Energy, ConocoPhillips, Pecos Valley Equipment, and Quality Janitorial.

6,125. This is our total number of Facebook followers! We finally met and exceeded our goal to reach 5,000. Now, let’s push to double that. Can we get to 10,000 followers? Our Facebook page reach over the last 12 months was 413,500, and our page visits was 41,800. We are working on getting more active on Instagram and hope that we can make a big impression there over the next 12 months. Over the last year, our reach totaled 11,500. Find us on Facebook to help you stay in touch!

$258,380. Lodgers Tax funding granted 13 events and organizations with monies to promote marketing to areas outside our community in order to bring visitors in to enjoy our events and attractions. While those of us who live here often take it for granted, many visitors enjoy what we have to offer, from shooting sports to hot air balloons, beautiful sculptures and murals to entertainment at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center.

We welcomed 180 shooters to our 15th annual Clays Crusher Sporting Clays Fun Shoot, 20 balloons to Balloons & Tunes, 267 cars to the Main Event Car Show & Cruise, thousands of visitors, and more than 100 volunteer interactions throughout the year totaling more than 500 hours of service. We have 12 partner organizations who work together to cross promote activities and help make things happen better every year. We are thankful to have great people in this community working together. We also partner on 11 other events in which we do not take the lead, but we provide support.

These numbers are just part of our big picture. We love what we do and are proud of our community. If you are interested in learning more and becoming more involved with the Chamber, please call us or stop by anytime. We would love to see you!
