Kenneth & Elizabeth Lickliter purchased Fiddler’s Inn from Tonk and Julie Chester in October 2020 during COVID.
Tonk and Julie had turned the old historic home into a bed and breakfast about five years before this purchase. They saw a need for a small boutique-type hotel in Carlsbad.
Fiddler’s Inn provides travelers with a choice of accommodations while visiting Carlsbad Caverns or being in Carlsbad for work. The majority of guests are in the area to visit the caverns and the surrounding state and national parks. Along with comfortable rooms, guests get to experience the Blue House Bakery for breakfast Monday through Saturday.
Jennifer Watson manages the business and stays very active in the community. Jenn volunteers as a Carlsbad Chamber Ambassador and serves as a Tourism Committee member. She is also a key member of fundraiser committees for the National Rifle Association and the Carlsbad Assistance League, which provides services to disadvantaged children in our community. Fiddler’s Inn is always looking for opportunities to give back to Carlsbad and the surrounding communities. The owner serves on the Carlsbad Lodger’s Tax Committee providing recommendations for the spending of the lodger’s tax that is generated in the city.
Fiddler’s Inn is unique in that it is located in a neighborhood close to a wide variety of services including a grocery store, bakery, a variety of Carlsbad’s dining establishments, and a brew pub. This is also the perfect location if you have overnight guests and have run out of room in your home! It can be a great place to visit with friends over a beverage in the lovely courtyard. Fiddler’s Inn welcomes the opportunity to host various celebrations at the inn. Everything from weddings to baby showers have been held there.
