Artesia High School seniors Andrea Alvarado, Lily Heady, and Savana Watts were the stars of Artesia’s Arts & Cultural District’s (ACD) first Senior Art Show.

Using all types of mediums from graphite and acrylics to watercolors and clay, each girl displayed her own unique artistic talent. Their artwork was housed at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center in January and February.

These artists also participated in the ACD’s Student Mural Program. As part of the program, these gals, along with Josephine Luevano, painted strokes of creativity, leaving their fingerprints in Artesia for years to come. Their public art can be enjoyed anytime day or night. The ACD’s Under a Sky of Azure, located at 104 N. 4th St. (north wall), was designed by Andrea Alvarado. Another beautiful mural that resulted from the Student Mural Program is the City of Balloons at 412 W. Main St. (north wall). Be sure to check out both of these murals and celebrate the talent of these seniors!
