Angee’s Flowers
Angee’s Flowers has regular business hours, but during holidays and events, the magic happens after hours. Usually, after the doors are locked, the music turns up, and the creativity flows. Depending on the time of year, florists will work on various projects. From dances like Homecoming and prom to holidays to spread cheer, Valentine’s for your sweetheart, or something special for Mom. Throughout the year, florists work nights and even 36-hour benders, ensuring every order is just right and ready on time.

Print by Design
Aaron at Print by Design does various jobs at all hours of the day or night. His non-conforming schedule has made him the person to call for last-minute projects due yesterday. From security cameras for off-grid oilfield locations to billboards, your child’s senior pictures to vehicle wraps, political campaigns to sports programs, from laser cut invitations to thousands of ticket books — his shop can handle most of your needs without outsourcing from out of town.

Firm Foundation Farms
Firm Foundation Farms is a small, 3.6-acre farm in Southeast New Mexico. They focus on growing food for their family and yours using a regenerative farming model. Using this model, they go beyond organic and build a good soil foundation for their farm. Owner Rey Sosa thinks, “A firm foundation is necessary for all aspects of life from the farm to physical health, to mental health, and to the spiritual life.” Work on the farm happens before and after Rey’s 9-5 job.

Aquino’s LLC
Aquino’s is offering a fresh take on deli-style foods. Owners Aimee Aquino and Tristan Cheek opened for business mid-July, bringing an Italian-style deli to the Carlsbad MainStreet District. Menu options include Paninis, Heros, Focaccia, pizzas, and Burrata Bombs. What makes these sandwich options different from other sandwiches you’ll find is the use of specialty meats like Mortadella, Prosciutto, and Calabrese. Using fresh ingredients and slicing meats daily requires early preparations, extending their day beyond the open hours of 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Carlsbad Miniature Golf
Carlsbad’s newest attraction is the mini golf course, located at the Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course. Jacob Luebke’s job consists of many things, including setting up the course for the day, getting people ready to play mini golf, and closing the course at night. Admission is only $5 per person, and with hours of 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. in the summer and 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. in the winter, most people can find time to play a round.
