As Sales and Marketing Director for Lakeview Christian Home, I help seniors live a care-free lifestyle where they can enjoy their golden years without worrying about maintenance or lawn care.
River Bend is an active community with many opportunities and activities to join. We offer yoga, water aerobics, stretch classes, and more. One can swim in the indoor heated pool or relax in the hot tub. I help organize activities for the residents and schedule events around the holidays to keep them active and busy. Our community is safe and serene with walking paths, meandering streams, and waterfalls. We are one short walk to the river for a stroll along the banks or the Municipal Golf Course for an afternoon round of golf.
Lakeview has been in business since 1960 when a small group of elders from the Church of Christ pooled their money together to start a nursing home. Over the years, it became apparent that still very active seniors were looking for a community to provide landscaping and home maintenance, easing the burden as they began to age. The Lakeview Villages were conceived and built, followed by the Northgate Villages a few years later. River Bend was planned in the late 1990s and built on 20 acres to provide single family and patio homes. They have all been a great success, providing senior living in a quiet and serene atmosphere. Three years ago, Lakeview acquired the fourth property, formerly known as Landsun Homes, bringing the number of properties to 180 units. These 37 units are located just off West Riverside Drive and Westridge in a lovely community with a club house and beautiful landscaping. All of these communities are owned and operated by Lakeview Christian Home.
I love working with our Seniors to help them find just the right property. We are committed to providing care that is aligned with our Christian values. Our staff is well trained to provide compassionate, loving, and respectful care to all residents, regardless of their religious beliefs.
We enjoy short day trips to Ruidoso, Cloudcroft, and various other locations to attend local events. Our company bus provides transportation so residents do not have to drive. Occasionally we shop in Roswell, Lubbock, or El Paso. The Artesia Theatre provides wonderful entertainment for our residents to enjoy, and we love going out to dinner prior to the event. We also provide educational workshops at the Leo Sweet Community Center where residents can learn about various topics such as cooking with herbs, the vegan way of life, staying safe in today’s changing world, and many other interesting topics.
At River Bend and our sister communities, we are more than just a place to live; we provide a community where residents can feel connected to one another and their faith. Our varied activities and events promote fellowship and interaction, and our staff are committed to building relationships with the residents.
One of the most frequent comments I hear when new residents move in is “I wish I had done this years ago!”
