Exciting news for the Carlsbad Public Library was recently announced. T-Mobile’s Hometown Grant initiative presented a check to Sarah Jones, director of the Carlsbad Public Library in the sum of $40,000 on Thursday June 29, 2023. 

The Carlsbad Public Library was one of 25 recipients this year, with over 600 applicants hoping for funding towards their projects. This grant will be used to upgrade the Bob Scholl Meeting Room, named in honor of Carlsbad’s longest serving board member and longtime library and community supporter. 

Walls will be added to make it an official room, and it will serve as a mulit-purpose space. Digital literacy, telehealth, job training, internet access, meeting space, and more will be supported with the grant funding.
