SENMC DIGITAL MEDIA DEPARTMENT TO RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE NM FILM OFFICE GIVEBACK
PROGRAM
By Kristal Allen
Southeast New Mexico College is pleased to announce that the Digital Media Department will be receiving
$30,000 of funds from the New Mexico Film Office Giveback program, specifically from Season 6 of Better
Call Saul.
Zane Biebelle, the Digital Media Department Chair, said, “The department is thrilled to have received
these funds from Better Call Saul via the NM Film Office. Our digital media programs are set to really take
off, with the help of these funds and our new digital media professor, who will start in the fall semester. I
encourage anyone interested in this growing industry to check out our programs.”
The purpose of the NM Film Office Giveback Program is to ensure that money is invested into New
Mexico’s future film industry workforce by the film companies filming in our state. These funds allow
schools to build up their creative media programs and purchase needed equipment for their students.
Dr. Kevin Beardmore, Southeast New Mexico College President said, "SENMC is honored to receive this
grant from the New Mexico Film Office. This is a wonderful way for the film industry to give back to New
Mexico and support our students."
These funds will be used to purchase lights and photography equipment for the SENMC Digital Media labs
in both Carlsbad and Artesia.
