The Artesia Arts & Cultural District enhances our town in a variety of ways, and the numerous murals are vibrant reminders of this. Masterpieces to be enjoyed year-round, these murals are a collection of assigned paint colors and unique rhythms, inviting us into the beauty of the artists’ imagination.
On Monday, June 5th, the newest project was launched on the north side of the Artesia Family Wellness Center (412 W Main St). Funded by the TLC2 Foundation, this 2-part project will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.
One aspect that makes this undertaking special can be attributed to students from Artesia High School. Mural designer Alison Green (an incoming sophomore), together with classmates, will collaborate their talents to give life to this design. Under the leadership of the Artesia Arts & Cultural District coordinator Nancy Dunn, together with art instructors Juli Newton and Brandi Cox, students will learn from these experts while also expressing their creative power.
Be sure to swing by the north side of the Artesia Family Wellness Center to see the progress over the next few weeks. It’s sure to be a fabulous addition to the collection of murals around Artesia!
