The Pearl of the Pecos Arts & Cultural District is hosting a POPup Art Event this Friday, April 14th from 6-8 pm on The Other Side at Milton’s Brewing. This event showcases art from the community and Pearl of the Pecos Arts & Cultural District committee members. This is an opportunity to meet and greet with the artists, and possibly add a new work of art to your collection.

“It is important for the Pearl of the Pecos Arts & Cultural District to host an event like this to showcase the great local talent that we have within our community, and especially those members of our steering committee,” shared Kat Davis, Executive Director for Carlsbad MainStreet.

Committee members have been dedicated to the process of helping bring a state designated Arts & Cultural District (ACD) to Carlsbad and give so much of their time and talent to our community. “The POPup Art Event allows the community and artists to come together and make art be more “accessible” to the community. Having the event on The Other Side at Milton’s Brewing serves for a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere where you can meet the artist and talk to them one on one,” said Davis.

Featured artists for this POPup are Red, with realism oil painting. Sky Vendella, is an artist and photographer. Mike Campos, works with chalk and acrylic 3D murals, and Bill Medina, is a wood and metal artist.

“Our goal is to show people all the different avenues that art can be expressed and appreciated.
We hope that this event will be the beginning of something great and would love to host more in the future,” Davis said.
