Carlsbad Municipal Schools have their annual art show happening now at the Carlsbad Museum. Currently on exhibition is the elementary (Kindergarten – 5th grade) art work. You can view these masterpieces during open hours until April 11th. The secondary (6th grade and up) show will go up on the 12th and be on exhibit until April 28th.

This week the museum will be closed for Good Friday on Friday April 7th, and will be open on Saturday April 8th from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm. Normal business hours are Tue-Fri 10 am – 5 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 2:30 pm, closed on Sunday and Monday.

Coming up at Carlsbad Museum will be the Carlsbad Area Artist Association annual art show, starting on April 15th. Next is, One Drip at A Time: The Centennial Celebration of Carlsbad Caverns National Park. This is a collaboration exhibit with the Carlsbad Caverns National Park and is set to be on display at the end of May.

During the pandemic, the museum had an exhibit called: Medieval to Metal: The Art & Evolution of the GUITAR from the National GUITAR Museum. Unfortunately this exhibit was not able to draw the attendees it deserved because of the pandemic. Fortunately for our community, another guitar GUITAR exhibit is coming in November 2023. America at the Crossroads: The GUITAR & A changing Nation. Stay tuned for more details on that and all upcoming shows by following Carlsbad Museum on social media outlets and by visiting their website at https://www.carlsbadmuseum.org/

The museum is located at 418 W Fox, and can be reached by phone at 575.887.0276
