The Carlsbad High School boys basketball team beat Clovis, 53-49, on Monday to win their tenth straight game. The boys, now 18-7, will complete their regular season on Friday with a home game against Hobbs. The Carlsbad Cavegirls will also finish their regular season against Hobbs, but they will be on the road. The Cavegirls beat Roswell, 29-27, on Feb. 10

This weekend, the Carlsbad High School swim and wrestling teams are both also competing in the state tournament. 

Carlsbad High School qualified to compete in 15 events in swimming this year. Swimming for the boys will be Sam Vega, Gabe Wittmayer, Ty Longoria, Dane Naylor and Mason Dhenin.  Swimming for the girls will be Sophia Corder, Olivia Jang, Colette Dhenin and Payton Jones.

Six Cavemen and four Cavegirls will be competing at the state wrestling meet in Rio Rancho this weekend. Representing the Cavegirls are Andrea Ramirez, Rosalia Rubio, Neyra Miranda, and Danica Medina. Representing the Cavemen will be Marcus Najera, Justin Owens, Ethan Powell, Jeremiah Otero, Luke Waters and Arturo Estrada. Best of luck to the Cavemen and Cavegirls.
