The post-holiday season with fewer activities and the cooler weather make it a great time to expand your mind by reading. If you aren’t interested in making a trip to the Artesia Public Library take advantage of their incredible digital library through the free Libby app.

I decided to give it a try and it was super easy to use. Simply download the Libby app from the App Store or Google Play. After submitting your passwords for the App Store and the Libby app downloads, you choose the Artesia Public Library (make sure it is Artesia NM and not Artesia CA), then you will need to input the number from your library card, choose whether you’d like to download to Kindle or your device. Then you will have established a portal with the New Mexico Library to Go and can download ebooks, audiobook or chose from over 3,300 magazines. You can choose from downloadable ebooks curated by librarians in many different categories including mystery, battle stations, holiday reads, hispanic heritage, sci-fi, and much, much more! You can sample a book, place a hold on a book, search by author, title, and series… all from the app. The app even recommends books based on your searching and borrowing.
