Everyone has their own plan for taking down their Christmas tree- ranging from Dec. 26 through the end of January. Once you are ready to dispose of your tree, please consider using the City’s Solid Waste Convenience Drop-Off Center at 301 E. Plaza Street. In the winter, the center is open from 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be closed on New Year’s Day.

The station is for residential use only. For more information, please call (575) 885-0042. The City also has an excellent grappler service, allowing you to have your Christmas tree picked up at your front curb. You can turn in your grappler request by visiting https://www.egovlink.com/carlsbad/ or by calling our 311 line. 

As a reminder, the City’s solid waste routes will be unchanged for New Year’s Day, due the holiday taking place on a Sunday. Please ensure that your 96 gallon roll-out is placed outside of your residence by 6 a.m. on your pickup days. Thanks again to our hard working solid waste department.
