Eddy County Fire & Rescue has issued a press release describing a heroic rescue that took place on Nov. 16 during a structure fire at a residence off of Molinar Road. According to the release, Battalion Chief Jarred Stock was able to rescue an elderly woman from the smoke-filled building.  There was heavy smoke inside of the house, and the woman was not able to make it out on her own. Chief John Mack says Stock’s quick thinking and bravery allowed the woman to make it outside without injury. The fire was extinguished and the cause was determined to be a wood burning stove.
