The most important news right now is that Tuesday is election day. The Eddy County Clerk’s office is in charge of elections and does an outstanding job. Polls will be open on Nov. 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and eligible voters may cast their ballot at any one of numerous convenience stations around Eddy County. Carlsbad City Hall is not a voting location, but you can see a list of voting locations here. https://www.co.eddy.nm.us/405/Voting-Convenience-Centers-Polls.
This year, voters will have choices on a wide variety of positions, including Governor and U.S. Representative. There are also three state amendments and three bond issues to consider. Eddy County has about 34,000 registered voters – we’d love to see every single one of those cast a ballot this year. If you have any questions about what will be on your ballot, you can also see a sample ballot in advance through the county’s web page. Thank you for participating in this extremely important part of the Democratic process.
From the office of Mayor Dale Janway
