Estanislado Sosa, Jr., 71, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home. Estanislado was born September 29, 1951, in Carlsbad, NM to Estanislado and Paula Sosa.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 28, 2022, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Estanislado was a kind and loving person. He would always take the time to check in on others, and see if they needed any help. He was well known and loved, and always made others smile and laugh as he was the clown of the family. Estanislado was a hard worker, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and he loved to dance and listen to the oldies. Estanislado was always a caring and loving father, grandfather, and husband. He married the love of his life, Ycela Rubio on August 19, 1969, and he greatly missed her this past year that they were not together. He has now gone to be reunited with loving wife, and his favorite dog Blanco.
Estanislado was preceded in death by his father, Estanislado Sosa, Sr.; mother, Paula (Flores) Sosa; wife, Ycela Rubio Sosa; two brothers: Felipe Sosa and Albert Sosa; and brother-in-law, Eloy Moreno.
Estanislado is survived by his four daughters: four daughters: Sonya Sosa and Brandon Sandoval of Albuquerque, NM; Sophia Sosa and John Vasquez of Albuquerque, NM; Bianca Sosa and Jimmy Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; and Nakita Sosa and Carlos Martinez of Carlsbad, NM; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven siblings: David Sosa and Eva of Carlsbad, NM; Daniel Sosa and Angela of Santa Ana, CA; Joe Sosa and Ligia of Santa Ana, CA; Lydia Martinez of Lubbock, NM; Dora Vasquez of Raton, NM; Frances Vacella and Jose of Midland, TX; and Mary Saenz of Lovington, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be: David Sosa, Daniel Sosa, Joe Sosa, Jimmy John Rodriguez, Carlos Martinez, and Chris Rubio. Honorary Pallbearers are all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
