We are finally getting some rain! There are those who will say it is too late. Those people are wrong. Anytime rain falls, it is the right time. We need moisture so badly right now. As we say on the farm, “A new calf and a good rain are always welcome!” The rain has been a tremendous blessing. God blesses us in so many ways, each and every day. Even when the roads were flooded and I had to find an alternate route home, the rain is a blessing. 

I live on a paved road. It is paved all the way. But in the torrential rain that fell, I was told not to go my normal route, as that road was flooded. So I tried route number two. I got a ways down that road and had to turn around and come back. So I went to route number three. This was a little further down the road and I was able to get back home with that route, even though water was over the road most of the way. I knew that road well, and I knew the water wasn’t deep and I could drive through it all the way home. When I got to my house, my driveway was flooded, but I was still able to get in. About 45 minutes after I started, mission accomplished!

I was fortunate that I knew various ways to get home. And, I was familiar enough with the roads to know that on my road, even if water was over the road, I knew I was still safe. The road led me home.

In our lives, we have lots of choices or roads to take. We make choices all the time about where to go and what to do. But, if we want our road to lead to heaven and an eternity with our Lord and Savior, there is only one road that will take you there. There are those that would like you to believe there are many pathways to heaven. Those people are wrong. I am convinced of that with all my heart. Jesus Christ is the only way. He says this in His Word. “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father, except through Me.” (John 14:6)

He is the only way. Period. No way else. No one else. Just Jesus.

When the world is trying to offer you other options, just choose Jesus. When the world is telling you that what you thought was wrong is now right, just choose Jesus. When your problems and your trials are falling in around you, just choose Jesus. He is the only way to peace. The only way to comfort. The only way to heaven.

But, I don’t want you to think of that saving relationship with Him as just a ticket to eternity. It is so much more. It is a ticket to a life of peace in the midst of trouble. It is a ticket to a life of contentment when unhappiness is all around you. It is a ticket to a better way to live. And ultimately, it is that ticket to heaven one day where you will be with Him and Me! Eternally.
When your path is stormy and your road seems flooded with worries and concerns, turn that buggy around and choose the path the leads to Jesus! It will make a difference!
