According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services 20 percent of American children will be diagnosed with a mental illness in any given year. Kids in Southeastern New Mexico are no different. In response to the need the Artesia Public School (APS) officially opened the Bulldog Health and Wellness Center this week at 1106 West Quay Ave, Artesia. All APS employees and students are eligible to receive services from Permian Basin Counseling & Guidance (PBCG) at the Bulldog Wellness Center. Services include individual therapy, family therapy, children’s play therapy, grief and loss counseling, therapy for substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, cognitive behavioral therapy, PTSD, trauma, children therapy, and adolescent therapy. APS employees and students can request services using the referral form located on the PBCG website and email the form to the address listed.
