The Artesia Bulldog football team, under head coach Jeremy Maupin, kicks off their regular season this Friday, August 19 at 7:00 pm at the Bulldog Bowl by taking on county rival, the Carlsbad Cavemen.
Fans can enjoy the newly completed upgrades to the Bulldog Bowl, including beautiful new turf. The Bulldogs are looking forward to a great season in pursuit of another state title, while already having the most football titles in the state of New Mexico.
Tailgating that benefits the high school choir starts at 4:30 pm with a drive-through in the horseshoe west of the Artesia Public Schools administration building. Each $8 plate includes pulled pork that has been marinated and smoked, chips, dessert, and a beverage. No tickets necessary. According to choir director Susie Parker this fundraiser will support the choirs travel to the national competition.
