Dust off those backpacks, school supplies are lined up on the store shelves. It’s time to formulate a plan and round up all of those school supplies for the students in your life. Look no further for the ultimate list of school supplies across the Artesia Public School District, the APS website has students, parents, and caregivers alike covered. Visit www.bulldogs.org/News for the supply lists of the Early Childhood Center, all the elementary schools, Zia Intermediate School, and Park Junior High School. Penasco School is the only school where the supply list is only available at school. The Artesia High School will provide students with the supply list for individual classes rather than for the entire school.
Make sure to read the notes at the bottom of some of the supply lists. The notes give instructions for certain types of school gear and supplies. For example, trapper keepers are not permitted at Yeso or Hermosa Elementary Schools because these organizational tools do not fit in the student lockers in the classroom. While trapper keepers are not advised in some of the elementary schools, they are required at Zia Intermediate because students will not be using lockers. The Zia supply list reads that all supplies will be carried to class and then taken home at the end of each day.
If you’re in need of some assistance with school supplies, local organizations like the Changing Lives Coalition, Written in Red, and Eddy County United Way may be able to lend a hand with supplies for students. Reach out by phone to contact these organizations.
