In April, a group of Artesia’s first responders welcomed members of Cub Scout Pack #270 and Boy Scouts of America Troop #228 to receive some community safety training.
At the event, Lt. Randall Espinoza, Paramedic/Fire Fighter Kevin Hartley, and Fire Fighter Adam Oropesa Jr. shared summer safety tips to avoid accidents and how to be prepared for emergencies.
Thrilled when the large, red fire truck marked Ladder #1 arrived, the children interacted with the first responders on board, tried on their safety gear, and learned about the tools used when responding to fires and car accidents. The event was a great way for the two groups to connect on their respective merits and shared principles of bravery, training, and teamwork.
