ARTESIA 9/11 Memorial, INC., a nonprofit organization, will host their first GUNS & HOSES CHARITY SOFTBALL GAME – POLICE VS. FIRE on May 28th at Noon at Brainard Park in Artesia NM. ARTESIA 9/11 MEMORIAL, INC., has organized this honorable and fun charity softball game to remember those we lost within our community, some of which are pictured here. Our mission is to further 9/11 education and remembrance; provide our community’s firefighters with financial assistance in times of personal crisis; and to identify & provide needed resources and services for our community’s veterans by partnering with local veteran organizations to meet those needs. ARTESIA 9/11 MEMORIAL, INC. is honored to have as their special guests Kristie Kiernan Bouryal, CEO & Author of the Discovering Heroes© Series and VP of Marketing & Communications with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, along with retired Lt. John Kiernan, FDNY Elite Rescue Unit and 9/11 First Responder. This 50’s-era themed softball game, complete with hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jacks and sarsaparilla, comes with a dunk tank in which our City’s Mayor Jon Henry and our Fire Chief Kevin Hope, along with |

other VIPs from the community, will be dunked to raise funds for charity! The opening ceremony will feature the National Anthem performed by 16-year-old Carson Troost and God Bless the USA performed by 17-year-old Bailey Rutherford from Artesia High School’s Show Choir; Honor Guard performed by US Border Patrol and a speech given by: |
