Hello! Summer is here, and Artesians are out and about!

It is refreshing to go through a spring season and move into a summer season without any limitations!

First of all, we were excited to work with Artesia Car Enthusiasts to bring back the Main Event Car Show & Cruise. It was a huge success with nearly 250 cars registered and countless visitors enjoying the evening cruise and the show all day. So many volunteers helped us out, plus some great organizations:

  • Artesia Police Department
  • City of Artesia Council and Staff
  • FUMC Scout Troop 228
  • Western Bank
  • First National Bank

And then there were those who stepped up in a pinch and saved the day! They are:

  • Royal Services
  • Prestige
  • Spur Energy
  • Alamogordo Radio
  • Crockett Trucking
  • Matco
  • Best Western Pecos Inn

We also are so thankful to our friends at My Ashleah Foundation for doing the work and garnering the support to bring Tim Tebow to town for a phenomenal presentation. We appreciate Tammy Neel for putting in all the work to organize the Yucca Blossom Trade Days. We love to see people in our community take the lead to create fun experiences.

Amazing! Artesia is an extra special place because of the companies and people who never fail to show up and help start events that are good for our community. So, mark your calendars now for next spring’s car show on April 1, 2023, and My Ashleah Foundation’s next special guest: Kurt Warner on April 29, 2023.

In the meantime, there is a lot to do this summer! Watch on Facebook for activities at Artesia Public Library (it is not just about reading books; there are all kinds of fun activities there) and Artesia Aquatic Center (again, it is not just swimming). Visit Artesia Arts Council and watch a show or be in a show, take music lessons, check out their latest art display, and more. Be sure to mark your calendar for the Aaron Watson concert and bull riding event at Eddy County Fair on July 28. There will be other fun things to do at the fair this year. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce and grab a Fair Book to check it all out. Sign up for the Chamber’s Clays Crusher Sporting Clays Fun Shoot scheduled for August 27, and in the meantime, become a member of the Eddy County Shooting Range and participate in shotgun games any time.

There is more to do in Artesia than it may sometimes seem. Follow Artesia Chamber of Commerce on Facebook, check out our website, or stop by to see us for more information about what is going on this summer!
