We are a local community bank that serves the financial needs of Carlsbad, NM and the surrounding area. We build relationships. CNB Bank gives back to the community via loans, wealth management services, and other financial services. We also donate to many non-profits that benefit Carlsbad, NM as well as the surrounding areas of Loving, Hobbs, Artesia, and Roswell.
How long have you been in business? Please share a brief history.
CNB Bank has been in operation since 1924: 98 years. Originally, the bank was named Carlsbad National Bank, however, after converting from a national charter to a state charter in 2018, the bank changed the name to CNB Bank. The bank has grown significantly over the past decade and is now a financial institution with $500MM in assets and will continue to grow. We go above and beyond to try to meet the needs of our customers.
What makes your business unique?
Our motto is Community Minded and outside of emphasizing customer service, we indeed give back to the community to help the hometown succeed.
What aspect of this business are you most passionate about?
We are passionate about strong growth with an emphasis on remaining a safe and sound financial institution.

We have a positive relationship with our competitors and all the banks in Carlsbad. When it comes to being a community bank, our goal is to provide personal service. When a customer needs assistance, they are going to get a person and not a machine. We go beyond to try and meet the needs of our customers.
How do you stay involved in the community?
In 2021, CNB Bank donated $102,000.00 to the community of Carlsbad. We have numerous officers involved in the community and also with their children’s school and sports. Jay Jenkins is a CARC board member, CDOD board member, and serves on various committees within the City of Carlsbad. He is also actively serving in the New Mexico Bankers Association Interim President and the American Bankers Association Grassroots & Communication Committees. Tom Hollis serves on the Lifehouse Board and School Board. Kelby Hensley serves on the Carlsbad Foundation Committees and National League Softball. Dustin Walker has volunteered with the Eddy County Fair since 2009. Laura Florez serves on the CASA Board. Nancy Bradford serves on the Carlsbad Literacy Program Board. Michelle Martinez serves on the Boys and Girls Club Board. Our employees, Carla Rodriguez and Espe Muñoz are in the Lion Heights Club. Michelle Martinez and Jaclyn Fierro are both Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. Annelle Mataya and Veronica Hernandez are both members of the Carlsbad Rotary Club. Last year, CNB donated $1,000 to the Cavemen Cheerleaders so they could purchase two full sets of new pom poms. We donate the footballs thrown out at each home game. We also donated $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Club so they could get the TV’s up in the gyms. We are deeply rooted into our community. We are the bank you’ve always known!
