You might need a magnifying glass to appreciate the Tiny Art Competition in progress at the Artesia Public Library. “Tiny Art” refers to the under six-inch-tall stature of the pieces entered into the competition. The competition is a mixed media one which features works on canvas, textile/fabric, modeling clay, and paper. There are several different categories that artists compete in: one for library staff, one for adults, and several for children ranging in age from 0-3, 3-6, 7-9, and 10-12.

 

This is the first ever Tiny Art Competition in Artesia. People’s Choice style judging will determine the winners of the event. Judging will take place through April 23rd. To participate in the judging, swing on by the library and complete the voting slip and place it in the corresponding category receptacle. The show lasts until the 29th, says library clerk Wendy Kilpatrick, “come on by and check it out.”
