Katherine Lewis
Katherine is involved in the Hermosa Student Council and Hermosa Herald Staff. Out of school, she is involved in the Hermosa Church of Christ and is part of the Artesia Lanes Allstars youth bowling league. She also works hard to maintain Honor Roll and Highest Honors. She was Student of the Month for October.
Taylor Beltran
Taylor is an amazing fifth grader at Yeso Elementary. He sets academic goals each day and works hard to achieve them. Taylor has completed the fifth, sixth, and almost the seventh-grade math library in Khan Academy. His goal is to complete a math grade level library for each of the nine weeks that he is in fifth grade. As if that were not an amazing feat, Taylor has also surpassed his Accelerated Reading goals for this school year.
Brylan Taylor
Brylan is a fifth grader at Yucca Elementary and is involved in numerous extra-curricular activities while maintaining highest honors in school. Brylan volunteers at her church and participates in the choir. She is active in Cottonwood 4-H and is a member of the Impact volleyball club. Other activities include city league softball and basketball.
Evelyn Gonzalez
Evelyn is a fourth grade student at Roselawn Elementary who immigrated from Mexico and has overcome many obstacles, such as learning a new language and adapting to a new environment. Her servitude, leadership, and excellence are admirable qualities. Despite many language barriers, Evelyn loves leading classroom discussions and is always eager to translate for any of her struggling classmates…ultimately providing them the confidence they need to succeed. This scholar is sure to be unmoved and unshaken by any challenge interfering with her path to success!
Jesse Johnson
Jesse is a fifth grader at Yucca Elementary, he works hard each day to help the custodian complete her tasks. He is at school early and stays late each day to assist the custodial staff in their daily activities. He volunteers his own time when helping with duties such as gathering classroom trash and making sure lights and appliances are turned on/off. Yucca is proud to have Jesse as part of their school.
Lucas Heady
Lucas is a fighter! When he was in the first grade, he was diagnosed with leukemia and began a tough battle against cancer. He battled through hospital stays, treatments, and keeping up with his schoolwork. Lucas fought for more than three years and today…he is a winner! Lucas got to “ring the bell” at the cancer center in December, and the Central Bullpups had a school-wide celebration (complete with his favorite: root beer floats) to honor his bravery through his battle.
Katie Miller
Katie is a well-rounded fifth grader at Yeso Elementary and has “top notch” character. She strives for excellence in academics, reaching over 125% of her reading and math goals by the end of the first semester. Katie is a valued member of the Yeso Student Council where she exhibits true leadership skills.
Victoria Aguallo
Victoria is a fifth grade student at Roselawn Elementary who uses positivity and compassion to encourage her classmates to keep pushing forward with a growth mindset. She is extremely helpful to everyone at her school and is a true role model for what it means to be a responsible citizen. Victoria is fearless when it comes to taking initiatives, mediating, and solving problems when conflicting issues arise with her peers. She is definitely one of Roselawn’s movers and shakers!
Syriana Williams
Syriana is involved in the Hermosa Student Council and Hermosa Herald Staff. Out of school, she plays basketball and is involved in Girl Scouts. She also works hard to maintain Honor Roll and Highest Honors. She was Student of the Month for September.
