UPDATED PUBLIC NOTICE: Severe weather is expected to last through the weekend. Shelter will be available at the following locations: 

• The Community of Hope Center (1314 S. Canal St) is offering temporary shelter for those who need it. Please call the Community of Hope Center at (575) 200-1377.
• Carlsbad Transitional Housing (502 S. Halagueno) will also have additional space available for shelter. For more information please call (575) 200-3095.

First responders have been instructed to assist individuals who need it with getting to one of these temporary shelters.

• Joe Stanley Smith Elementary School (505 Alta Vista) will be on standby and will be opened as a shelter if the two locations listed above are unable to meet demands. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
