Current Events for Artesia Students

FNMD Header Schools Artesia
NDI New Mexico, swimming, and testing were the big things happening across the local school district this month. NDI is working with students in a hybrid rehearsal format: part in person and part virtually on a special dance performance for 4th graders. NDI works with students across the state and Artesia is a part of its residency program. NDI believes “the arts have a unique power to engage and motivate children. The purpose of their distinctive programs is to help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives.”
Local 5th graders have the opportunity to try out some swimming lessons at the Artesia Aquatic Center. As the Aquatic Center is just a few years old, many students may not have had the opportunity to participate in lessons or recreational swimming. This opportunity seeks to give every child the chance to learn some basic fundamentals.

If you have some time to view a student art gallery curated by the art teachers of the school district, stop by the administration building at 301 Bulldog Blvd. There is a mix of different media presented. View the pencil and pen and ink drawings as well as miniature sculptures displayed on tables in the North Hall.
