Viola O. Aragon

Viola O. Aragon, 80, of Carlsbad, passed away November 24, 2021 at her home. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on December 3, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 6:00 PM, Friday, December 3, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.
Viola was born on July 25, 1941 in Roswell, New Mexico to Crisantos and Annie Padilla. She married John Aragon in 1963 and bore four children. She enjoyed reading, doing arts and crafts, word search puzzles, and visiting the family cabin; but her favorite thing was to watch her grandchildren’s activities. She was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church, volunteered with Jonah’s House, church mass, and bereavement preparations.
Viola was preceded in death by her father, Crisantos Padilla; mother, Annie Padilla; brothers Jake, Robert, and Adolfo Padilla; husband, John Aragon Sr.; and grandson Kevin John Aragon. Viola is survived by her brother Chris Padilla and wife, Martina of Alamogordo, NM; sister Anna Moore and husband, Mike of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her four children: John Aragon, Jr. and wife, Leslie; Kenneth Aragon and wife, Brooke; Kevin Aragon and wife, Erin; and Robin Chism and husband, Gary, all of Carlsbad, New Mexico. She has 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Her pallbearers will be John Aragon, Jr., Kenneth Aragon, Kevin Aragon, Blaine Aragon, Garrett Kirby and Riley Kirby. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Chism and Eppy Saldana.
To our mom, we want to thank you for everything you have done for all of us. You believed in family first and dedicated your love and time to all of us.
