Barbara Ann Daniel was born January 7, 1943, in Carlsbad NM, to Luther and Gwendolyn (White) Sessom. She was born and raised in Carlsbad NM where she went to elementary school and attended Carlsbad High School.
Barbara met the love of her life Darold Daniel, and they were married January 8, 1958. This union brought to them a baby daughter, Deena Ann in 1963 and in 1967, daughter Tami Lynn was born.
Barbara or “Gram” as everyone knew her, was a very special woman. She always had time to be a listening ear and always gave the best advice. She taught those closest to her many life lessons such as cooking, gardening, and sewing. She was a wonderful seamstress and sewed all her girls’ clothes from school clothes to her daughter’s rodeo clothes. She made a vintage civil war ball gown for her granddaughter’s history banquet.
Barbara loved to travel with friends and family. Darold and her took many trips across the country in their 5th wheel. Visiting Alaska all the way to Pennsylvania. She loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, and camping. Whether it was putting her feet in the cold streams of Colorado or sitting by a campfire up in Queen.
After Darold and Barbara retired they spent their time showcasing Darold’s woodwork and Barbara’s unique painting skills. She was a very talented painter and could always make Darold’s woodwork look good. She was a member of the Queen Volunteer Fire Department.
Barbara’s joys in life consisted of her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and of course the love of her life, Darold. Darold and Barbara have been married 64 years and were inseparable. Just as Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
