With so many other activities going on this week, please don’t forget that we’re also in the middle of an election. On the ballot is an important school mill levy issue, as well as contested City Council, School Board and College Board elections. The mill levy, HB33, would generate funds for the school district to purchase equipment and maintain buildings. This levy has been in place for many years.

Early voting began Oct. 16 and is taking place at the County Clerk’s Office at 325 S. Main Street. The election is just around the corner – Nov. 2, 2021. If you don’t know what’s going to be on your ballot, you can visit this site: https://voterportal.servis.sos.state.nm.us/WhereToVote.aspx to receive a sample ballot. Eddy County does a great job running elections. If you have any questions about the upcoming election, please give them a call at (575) 885-3383.
