Obituary

On October 20, 2021, Sharon Marie Crawford died peacefully in her home in Artesia, New Mexico. She went on to her eternal home, surrounded by her family after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She knew this earth was a temporary home. She lived full of grace and God’s mercy. She was a dedicated mother, friend, and loved sharing her love of Jesus with others.

She was born January 6, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan. Sharon graduated High School in Pigeon, Michigan in 1960 and graduated from Alma College in 1964 with a degree in Education. She worked as a Teacher and Principle throughout her education career. Sharon married David James Crawford on March 21, 1970, in Pigeon, Michigan.

They later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1983. Sharon ran a daycare while assisting Mr. Crawford in his landscaping business. Later they moved to Missouri where they raised their family of four. Sharon had a passion for herbal remedies and learning to live off the land. She enjoyed raising chickens and canning vegetables from her garden. Sharon attempted to obtain her pilot license and loved drawing architectural designs. She was a Christian woman who was deeply devoted to her faith. She loved to learn about anything spiritual and enjoyed sharing her belief with others.

Sharon had an amazing sense of humor. She didn’t know a stranger and always found the best in people. She would find the positive in any tough situation. She was an avid listener and was addicted to learning. Sharon loved candles, books, anything green but, most importantly chocolate. All the chocolate. Cleaning “the guts” of her house was one of her favorite pastimes. She really liked a “Good box.” One of her many quotes was: “If you don’t want it, just take a NO thank you bite.”

Later in her life she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and fought it always hoping to win.

She would have said she won despite the challenge and struggles because it would give her an opportunity to learn and a provide new perspective in life.

She left a legacy of powerful Men and Women who will take the knowledge she imparted and the love she had to give to create a better world.

Surviving her is her husband, David J. Crawford, their four children, Lisa Marie Crawford and her children, Kathrine M. Baggerly, Lilyan E. Baggerly, Ellington A. Baggerly & Megan J. Baggerly. Son Michael James Crawford. Daughter Tracy Lynn Crawford and husband Nick Vawter, and her son Cauis M. O’Haraughty. Son Anthony James Crawford and his wife Tiffany.
