COVID-19 Testing Options in Eddy County

FNMD Headers CovidUpdate

We had a good talk with the Department of Health about adding more COVID-19 testing options to Carlsbad on Friday, as residents have expressed frustration over changing options.  COVID-19 tests are being offered through Curative from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts Center (Front Parking Lot). New Mexicans may also obtain free COVID-19 tests through a service called Vault. Visit https://learn.vaulthealth.com/nm for more information. Carlsbad Medical Center offers tests when a doctor requires one.  The Carlsbad Family Health Center is also reportedly offering COVID-19 tests as well. NMSU-C is also working on developing an option for COVID-19 testing.

This week, COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered from 8-11 a.m. at the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts Center on Friday. They are also being offered from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday at NMSU-C.   As reported in the news, the CDC now recommended that individuals 65 and older (as well as younger individuals with certain underlying medical conditions) receive a Pfizer booster shot at least six months after their original shots. There was apparently some initial confusion on Monday morning, but we have been informed that these clinics are able to give Pfizer boosters for those who meet the CDC recommendations.
