We’ve certainly all talked about COVID-19 quite a bit over the past two years, both in this daily update and everywhere else. But some topics related to COVID-19 often fall through the cracks – issues such as depression, anxiety and alienation. The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce’s Age Friendly Communities Council is hosting a “COVID-19 The Aftermath” discussion from 9 to noon on Saturday at the Leo Sweet Center to address these topics. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch the production from the City of Carlsbad and Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook pages.
There’s a great list of speakers including Tony Dominguez (San Jose Catholic Church), D’Nae Johnson (Permian Basin Counseling), Dr. Gerry Washburn (Carlsbad Municipal Schools) Nick Arledge (Carlsbad Medical Center) and Gary Williams (AARP) have all been invited to participate in the discussion. They will be taking questions from the public, and we encourage you to attend.
Thank you to Lakeview, Carlsbad Medical Center and Permian Basin Counseling & Guidance for helping sponsor this event.
