Alisha Kay Thompson

Alisha Kay Thompson was born June 13th, 1973 to Danny L. Smith and Tweetsy Kay Ditto in Houston, TX. She went home to be with our Lord, on August 19th, 2021 due to complications of Covid.

She is survived by her Mother, Tweetsy Kay Smith of Carlsbad, NM; Husband, Jerry Thompson of Carlsbad, NM; Son Jerry Tyler Thompson of Carlsbad, NM; Daughter Jordyn Thompson of Goshen, IN; Sister and Brother-in-Law Heather & Matthew Poncelow of Portland. OR.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Jack & Alene Smith of Carlsbad, NM; Father, Danny L. Smith of Carlsbad, NM; Grandparents, E.W & Carrie Tweet Ditto of Carlsbad, NM; Uncle, Gary Ditto of Carlsbad, NM; and Mother-in-Law, Kitty Thompson of Carlsbad, NM.
Alisha was a blessing to all who knew her. She was an endlessly supportive mother, a devoted wife, and a thoughtful, caring daughter and sibling. She was the emotional center of her family, connecting extended family to each other and looking after everyone’s needs. She was known in the community from her work as a pre-school teacher at Harding Webster as well as her time volunteering at Fox and Lake Church of Christ Food Pantry. Alisha was known for her helpful nature and generosity with her time and energy.
Caring for others was Alisha’s life’s calling. She provided immeasurable care and comfort to family members who were ill, and to anyone else that were overwhelmed or in despair. She brought joy and stability to uncertain situations. Though her family and friends wish they had her for a while longer they feel blessed to have had the privilege of sharing her life and take comfort knowing that Alisha’s legacy is one of love, selflessness. And as such she would want her life celebrated rather than her death mourned.
Services will be delayed due to risks of Covid-19. Memorials and condolences can be sent to 4303 Townsend Rd. Carlsbad, NM 88220.
