If you are looking for some inspirational young men and women, a great place to do so is at the Eddy County Fair, which is going on this week at the fairgrounds in Artesia. You can see how hard some of our local young people have worked by visiting the exhibition halls and attending the shows.
Thursday’s activities included the lamb shows, breeding sheep show, meat goat show and flower show. Friday’s activities include poultry, heifers, cattle, pecans and bull riding, with a concert scheduled for 8:30-11:30 p.m. There’s a swine show, chili cook-off, ice cream competition, anvil toss and award’s presentation planned on Saturday. The carnival starts on Thursday and the exhibit hall and community center are open to the public all week. For more information, please visit www.eddycountyfair.com
