First National Bank is a full-service bank, providing business and personal financial services. As a full-service bank, we serve families and businesses throughout Eddy, Otero, and Lincoln counties.

First National Bank was founded in 1956 in Alamogordo. In 2005, the Board of Directors and Officers of the bank decided that opening a branch in Artesia presented a wonderful opportunity to grow and expand their services in a thriving community. At that time, the bank was named Artesia National Bank and the first temporary location was in the Petroleum Building. Soon after, the property at 9th and Main (formerly the site of the original Dairy Queen and the longtime location of Fenn’s Market) was purchased. A mobile home was installed to serve as an office until the present building was completed in 2006. In 2019, the bank’s name was changed to First National Bank, although ownership has not changed.

The foundation of our bank was built on enthusiasm and heart for our community. The Board of Directors and Officers encourage our associates to continue this legacy today by partnering with non-profit organizations, youth programs, and charitable needs in each of the communities where we are located. In Artesia, where there is a strong and long-standing tradition of support for the community, particularly our youth, we partner with the schools, as well as try to fill emergency needs as they arise. Past projects include Christmas drawings for children’s bicycles, along with support for local school activities, and the assistance of specific requests from the schools as well as local non-profit organizations. Bank associates take part in non-profit organizations by volunteering in groups such as Meals-on-Wheels and other community organizations.

Andrew Davidson, our Market President, has a passion for helping and instructing inexperienced borrowers on building their credit and makes himself available to help however possible.

We are passionate about getting to know our customers on a personal level by getting to know them as individuals, calling them by name, and being able to resolve any issues that arise.
