Superintendent John Ross Null announced this morning that Artesia Public Schools hired a new head football coach, Jeremy Maupin. Coach Maupin led the Bulldogs to a State Championship as the QB in 2004. He graduated from NMSU in 2012 and began his career as a teacher and coach at Artesia High School. In 2017 Maupin became the head coach at Los Lunas High School. He coached the Tigers to the AAAAA State Championship games in both 2018 and 2019. Maupin will take over a Bulldog program ranked among the top in the nation with 30 State Championships.“My time at Los Lunas has been so meaningful and an experience I will cherish forever. I have formed so many lifelong friendships and have had the complete honor of coaching some of the finest young men/women in New Mexico.I am excited for this new opportunity to be a part of my Alma Mater and work with some of the greatest people I know. I feel so honored to get to coach in Artesia and look forward to getting to work as soon as possible. It’s great to be a Bulldog again.” Jeremy Maupin
